SAGE FEMME WOMB
rebirthing ancestral futures

There are moments in a woman's life that open her forever
Perhaps...

-
You went through a challenging postpartum period and never received the care, nourishment, or support your body and spirit needed.
-
You experienced a miscarriage, abortion, or pregnancy loss that was never fully witnessed or grieved.
-
You carry the imprint of sexual violation or relational trauma that still lives within your body.
-
You are moving through a divorce, separation, or relationship ending and feel suspended between who you were and who you are becoming.
-
You recently experienced a major life transition that left you feeling fragmented, overwhelmed, or untethered.
-
You are entering perimenopause or menopause and longing for this threshold to be honored as the profound rite of passage it truly is.
-
You have spent years caring for everyone else and realize that no one ever stopped to care for you.
-
You sense there is a chapter of your life that never truly came to completion.

If something inside you whispered "that's me" while reading these words...

Maybe it is time for you to be held.
Maybe it is time for a Closing of the Bones.

What is Closing of the Bones?
Closing of the Bones is a traditional women's ceremony found in various cultures around the world, including Latin America, Russia, and Northern Africa. While most commonly offered during the postpartum period, this ritual has long been used to support women through life's significant transitions and initiations.
Through gentle wrapping, rest, reflection, and community witnessing, the ceremony offers an opportunity to honor what has ended, integrate what has been lived, and consciously step into what is emerging.
What is the purpose of the ceremony?
Traditionally, Closing of the Bones was offered after birth, miscarriage, abortion, experiences of sexual violence, and other profound life events.
Today, many women also find this practice supportive during times of grief, relationship changes, career transitions, relocation, healing journeys, and other major chapter endings and beginnings.
Why heal in community?
Ancestrally, women did not move through life's initiations alone. They were surrounded by aunties, sisters, grandmothers, neighbors, and community midwives who understood that healing is not only physical—it is relational.

There is something profoundly restorative about being witnessed by other women who know what it means to be changed by life.

Together, we remember something our modern culture has largely forgotten: that no woman should have to carry her transitions alone.
Meet Your Ceremonial Guide
My name is Claire Wao•RÄ“ Yaseed
I am a student midwife, spiritual counselor, multidisciplinary artist, creator of The Serpentine Path Podcast, and founder of Sage Femme Womb.

My path bridges over five years of study in traditional medicine ways of the Colombian jungle with clinical midwifery training of the North. Rooted in the lineage of culturally attuned and spiritually intact care, I support individuals, families, and communities through life's many passages and initiations—from womb to tomb.

With one foot in the mystical and the other in the clinical, my work weaves together reproductive care, earth-based medicines, ancestral remembrance, and bio-spiritual approaches to healing.

What to Expect
This gathering is both a ceremony and an invitation into a living transmission of women's wisdom keeping.

Throughout our time together, you will receive:

-
Teachings on the history, cultural roots, and meaning of Closing of the Bones
-
Herbal tea and light refreshments to support heart opening and grief tending
-
Prayer, ritual, and community altar co-creation
-
Traditional rebozo wrapping and ceremonial closing
-
Quiet time for rest and integration

In addition to receiving a Closing, participants will learn the foundations of the practice and leave with the confidence to offer a simple ceremonial closing to the women they love. Rebozos will be available for purchase for those who wish to continue sharing this tradition with friends, sisters, mothers, daughters, and members of their community.

In learning to offer a Closing, we participate in the restoration of an ancestral way of women tending to women—one that reminds us that life's profound transitions were never meant to be carried alone.
