What is Closing of the Bones?

Traditionally, Closing of the Bones was never offered as a stand-alone ceremony. It was part of a larger continuum of women's care that included herbal medicine, nourishing foods, warm baths, abdominal and pelvic bodywork, rest, and the loving presence of experienced midwives and elders.

When appropriate, a personalized Closing of the Bones ceremony may be woven into your care as a way of honoring a profound life transition and supporting your body's natural process of integration.

Whether following birth, miscarriage, abortion, experiences of sexual violence, menopause, divorce, or another significant chapter of life, the ceremony offers a quiet invitation to reweave any fragmented parts of your body, psyche, and spirit back into loving coherence.

Every Closing is unique.

Together, we create a ceremonial experience that is thoughtfully shaped around your body, your story, and your needs.
